Connecting BrainTube to Claude Desktop
Step-by-step guide to adding BrainTube as an MCP server in Claude Desktop.
Make Claude your personal knowledge assistant by connecting BrainTube as an MCP server.
Prerequisites
- A BrainTube account with some saved content
- Claude Desktop installed on your computer
- A Pro subscription (MCP access requires Pro)
Setup Steps
1. Get Your MCP Endpoint
- Go to Settings → AI Integrations
- Find the MCP Server section
- Copy your personal MCP endpoint URL
- Copy your Access Token (JWT) — this authenticates your requests
2. Configure Claude Desktop
- Open Claude Desktop
- Go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config
- Add the BrainTube MCP server to your configuration
- Replace the token with your actual token
- Restart Claude Desktop
3. Verify Connection
In Claude, try: "Search my BrainTube knowledge base for [topic]"
If configured correctly, Claude will use the BrainTube tools to search your corpus and return results with citations.
What You Can Do
Once connected, ask Claude to:
- "What do I know about machine learning?"
- "Find my notes on productivity systems"
- "Summarize what I've learned about React this month"
- "What are the key differences between the videos I watched on [topic]?"
